Ian Lane project
Brief – Out with the old and in with the new. This home was a complete knock down and rebuild on a narrow steep cliff top site.
Nimmo Nielsen Collective oversaw the plans, selection of materials & finishes both internal & external, design & management of all joinery throughout, soft furnishing, furniture & window furnishings.
The brief from client was to create a luxury coastal home.
The floor plan of this project capitalises the sensational ocean views. The upper level boasts a large open plan living with dining, kitchen and walk in butlers pantry as well as separate powder room and large home office.
We designed the kitchen with a large 4 metre long island bench including a lower bench perfect for kids homework, light meals with the family, or a glass of wine with friends.
The butlers pantry keep the appliances out of sight, plenty of bench space and a second fridge.
Appliances including the fridge are fully integrated to keep the look sleek & minimal.
The joinery in the living was designed with the focus on a new gas fireplace, and the TV simply ‘disappears’ against the dark wall. Plenty of storage above and below keeps everything out of sight.
The finishes chosen reflect the coastal location, with an emphasis on light and natural materials.
(Composite Marble bench tops, American Oak & White Polyurethane joinery). Touches of gold & brass compliment the palette and inject a luxe feel.
